Really looking forward to the whole day Making workshop. Here are just a couple of logistics pieces and info:

- It is a whole day workshop which begins at 8:45 at Renaissance College Red Door Centre. Head upstairs to the Ada Rooms.
- The day will be split down into 3 parts with the main Make-a-thon in the middle sessions from 10:15 - 12:30.
- We will finish at 2:45pm

There is nothing much you need to bring with you, but....

- If you have a laptop then it is useful to bring it (not super-critical but handy to have some around).
- For the afternoon we will look at school integration of Maker Centred Learning so you will need to have knowledge of some upcoming units or learning engagements in your school. This could be access to planners in Google Drive (by laptop or phone) or could just be knowledge in your head of upcoming things.
- We will be cutting, glueing and generally gettings hands-on, so please wear something comfortable for creating and working with tools.

See you at RCHK!

Stu, Haymen and Andy

In this hands-on session participants will learn about Maker Centred Learning at BHS and how we implement a program for students and teachers that increases Maker Empowerment, learner agency and enhances our units through invention and creativity. For the main part of the session we will all take part in a make-a-thon challenge where participants will get to use a variety of materials, electronics components and tools to create an amazing invention. This session is suitable for any Primary School educators interested in enhancing learning through Making. No previous experience is necessary.

Key Takeaways
  • How to empower students as makers in your school
  • Sharing our approach to enhancing UOIs and design thinking with staff and students
  • Practical make-a-thon session, learn some new skills and explore your creativity.
